Instagram will finally let you rearrange your grid

Up until now, posts on your profile have appeared in chronological order, with pinning a post being the only way to keep older content at the top. The idea behind the feature is to give users a way to make their grid layout more aesthetically pleasing or to highlight certain content above others. The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise, as Instagram head Adam Mosseri said back in January that the company was looking to roll out the feature. Fast-forward to 2025, and Instagram is now ready to launch the update soon. As for the ability to quietly post content without broadcasting it to your followers’ feeds, Instagram says it’s testing the feature now and plans to roll it out more broadly soon. Mosseri wrote in a blog post that “creative expression can feel intimidating, especially when posting something to feed,” which is why it’s introducing the new feature to make it easier for users to share content without having everybody’s eyes on it.
