Summary

What would a birthday celebration be without cake? Well in the web world, cakes have a very special place. There's a long-standing tradition among browser makers of sending cakes to each other to mark major milestones. A good cake matters a lot to keep a spirit of collaboration alive between teams who compete at times, but ultimately build towards one open web that everybody can enjoy. Microsoft sent Mozilla cakes for Firefox 2, 3, and 4, and we also sent them one for IE10: And what better way to celebrate an MDN birthday, than our own birthday cake from our friends at web.dev: A very big thank you to the web.dev team for the delicious cake, and to all the partners, colleagues, and community members who make MDN what it is today. It would be hard to mention every single person who has worked on and contributed to MDN, and none of it happens without our global community. MDN reaches millions of developers each month and over 100,000 contributors have interacted with us through our GitHub organization. From the MDN team, a very big thank you to every single one of you. Your passion, curiosity, and direct contributions are what keep MDN going. Here's to 20 more years of empowering developers and building a better web together.
