Anti-Musk protests are now an official risk to Tesla’s business

For years, Tesla has included a risk factor informing investors that “Tesla’s products, business, results of operations, and statements and actions of Tesla and its management are subject to significant amounts of commentary by a range of third parties.” This risk factor warned this “criticism, which may be exaggerated or unfounded, such as speculation regarding the sufficiency or stability of our management team” could “harm our business and make it more difficult to raise additional funds if needed,” according to language in the company’s most recent annual report filed in January. That language was changed Wednesday.
